Scatterbugs (and their evolutions) are one of the newest additions to Pokémon Go. But, are Scatterbugs a guaranteed catch?
We’ll cut to the chase – Yes, Scatterbugs are a guaranteed catch in Pokémon Go.
That means that when you go to catch them, you should use Pinap Berries and Silver Pinap Berries to maximize your catch candy.
With 18 different Vivillon versions in total, you’re going to want as much Scatterbug catch candy as possible.
Scatterbug candy should be a top priority
If you are a serious collector and want to make sure you have a copy of each version, you’ll need A LOT of Scatterbug candy.
Pinap and Silver Pinaps are the best way to accomplish this, but you could also use Rare Candy to fill out your gaps.
That said, we typically recommend keeping Rare Candy for rare Raid Pokémon.
To help bolster your Scatterbug candy, we also recommend setting one as your Buddy. With Scatterbug as your buddy, you’ll get additional candies for every kilometer you walk.
How many Scatterbug candy do you need in total?
If you want every Scatterbug evolution, you can start planning your candy now.
Scatterbug evolves into Spewpa (25 candy). From there, Spewpa evolves into Vivillon (100 candy).
Doing a little napkin math, that means that you’ll need 2,250 Scatterbug candy in total. Yes, two-thousand two hundred and fifty.
