Eversoul is a fun idle game, but you’re going to need a bunch of copies of your favorite characters to reach max ascension.

The game features some gorgeous cutscenes and awesome characters. But, if you want to level up your favorite characters to Origin level, you will need multiple copies of them.

That’s where Eversoul’s pay-to-win element comes in, but just how many copies will you need to max-level them?

To get your Epic Souls to Origin (max level), you’ll need eight copies of the specific character, plus additional fodder that can be earned through ascending Rare Souls.

As you can see, it can take quite a few Souls to reach Origin level in Eversoul.

Thankfully, not every step of the way requires actual duplicates. In some ascension levels, you can use fodder (typically Rare characters that you’ve ascended) to reach higher levels.

That’s a very basic explanation, but one thing that will help you on your journey is a chart breaking everything down. Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered below.

So, if you want to make sure you are playing the game efficiently, knowing the upgrade order is important.

Also, one thing to keep in mind early is finding the characters you most want to invest in, as you might find yourself needing to sacrifice other Souls to level your favorites up.

Typically, you’re going to want to only fodder Rare characters, but ultimately, it comes down to how you want to play the game (and how much you are willing to spend).

Also, your fodder will need to be from the same faction (Undead, Humanlike, etc.) as the Soul you are leveling up.

Here’s the Eversoul leveling breakdown:

  • Rare – These are your Blue border Souls
  • Rare+ – Combine three of the same Rare characters to reach Rare+
  • Epic – These are the Purple border Souls. To reach Epic, you’ll need to add any two Rare+ Souls to the Soul you want to reach Epic
  • Epic+ – To reach Epic+, you’ll need two of the same Epic characters
  • Legendary – To reach this level, you’ll need the Epic+ Soul you want to raise, plus two other Epic+ Souls.

Important: We recommend only using Rare fodder that you’ve leveled up on this stage. You’ll need actual duplicates later to continue the leveling process.

  • Legendary+ – For this level, you’ll need the Legendary Epic+ Soul plus an Epic+ copy of the same Soul
  • Eternal – Eternal requires the Legendary+ Soul you want to level up plus any other Legendary+ Soul (fodder)
  • Eternal+ – Surprisingly, this step is a repeat of the previous
  • Origin – Here, you’ll the Eternal+ Soul you want to ascend, plus two copies of the same character at Epic+

Finally, there’s an Origin +1/2/etc ascension that requires more Epic+ duplicates, but the stat buffs are tiny and rarely worth it (unless you are a mega whale).

How to ascend characters in Eversoul

If you are new to these types of games, the process of ascending Souls may seem daunting. You don’t want to ascend the wrong characters, and if you are F2P, you probably have limited resources.

To ascend Souls in the game, here’s the quick breakdown:

Time needed: 5 minutes

  1. Open Eversoul and head to the Ark

You can find that in the bottom bareversoul ascension guide

  2. Next, tap Ascend Soulthe ark eversoul

  3. From here, either manually select a Soul or tap Auto-select (Auto-select is shown below)auto-select ascension mats

  4. Confirm that all the Souls being used for fodder look correct and select Confirmeversoul ascension guide

That will upgrade the rarities for the select characters, but make sure to familiarize yourself with the prior section to ensure you aren’t using valuable units as fodder.

Eversoul has a ton of potential as an idle game

Ultimately, there’s a lot to like about Eversoul, and we’ve been thoroughly enjoying our time with the game.

One thing to keep in mind if you are new to this genre is learning how to be patient.

These games have some relatively tough milestone levels that will hinder progress, but don’t let the game win. It wants you to spend money for the chance at more character duplicates.

Instead, look at your strategy to see if there is an issue. If not, your best bet might be to take the “idle” part of the game to heart and build up resources for a couple of days.

Eversoul is available on Android, iOS, and emulators like BlueStacks.
