Google Play Games looks to be a great way to play mobile games on your PC. But can Mac users get in on the fun? Can you download the program on your MacBook or iMac?
Currently in beta, Google Play Games is a program that emulates Android directly on your PC. It works with a select number of games that have been optimized for keyboard and mouse controls.
Look, we’re not going to make you read 600 words before getting to the answer.
Currently, Google Play Games is not available for Mac users. It is PC only. Could that change in the future? Possibly, but we wouldn’t hold our breath.
If you want to learn more about the system requirements for the program, however, keep reading below.
What PC specs are needed for Google Play Games?
If you are on Mac, but have a Windows-based PC or laptop around, here’s what you’ll need to make Play Games work:
- Windows 10 or newer
- An SSD with 10 GB of available space
- 4 CPU processor
- 8 GB of RAM
- Admin access
That covers the absolute basics, but you can read our full PC specs guide for Google Play Games here.
Mac users are left out…for now
It’s unclear if Mac will ever get access to Google Play Games at this point. Again, the program is still in beta, so things could change.
However, most Android emulators don’t play nicely with macOS, so time will tell if Google changes that up for its own Android system.
