The BlueStacks Android emulator is one of the most popular PC-based Android emulators in the world. But does that make it safe?

It has millions of users, and that figure is growing by the day. But, again, does that mean it is safe to use Bluestacks?

A large user base doesn’t always indicate that an app is useful or safe, but does that hold true with the Android emulator? Or is Bluestacks safe and created by a trusted developer?

Yes. Whether you are using BlueStacks 5 or any other version of the software, you can be sure that what you are using is 100% safe – as long as you download it from the source

The BlueStacks software is 100% legit. It has no bundled software (i.e. no adware, trojans, keyloggers, etc.) that serves nefarious purposes.

As-is, BlueStacks cannot give you a virus and it is safe to download. However, that doesn’t mean you should treat the apps you download through Bluestacks the same way.

While BlueStacks is legit to use, the apps you download may not necessarily be safe.

If you are using the BlueStacks Android emulator, it is highly recommended that you only download apps from the Google Play Store.

While you can download Android apps from a multitude of sources, once you start heading outside of the Google Play Store, there is no way to guarantee the apps will be safe.

If you download from the Google Play Store, you can feel relatively safe in your downloads.

Any piece of software that gets uploaded to Google Play is vetted to ensure that it will not impact somebody’s system. That said, sometimes bad code gets through.

Remember, when using BlueStacks, you will have to take the same amount of care that you would take if you were using any other computer system. This means only clicking on links that you trust, or downloading from sources that you trust.

At the end of the day, you should know that BlueStacks will not harm your computer and is safe to use.

However, you may run into issues if you download software onto BlueStacks from third-party sources.

For mobile gamers that want to play games on their PC, BlueStacks is one of the best Android emulators out there and one we highly recommend.

If you want to try an alternative, Nox Player is a solid option, as well.
