Honkai: Star Rail is right around the corner and players have been enjoying the multiple betas focused on the story. But does the game have any PvP elements?
HoYoverse, the company behind the game, is keeping things close to the chest at present.
Honkai: Star Rail is a turn-based gacha game, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see a PvP element introduced to the game.
Other popular mobile games like Summoners War and Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes use a turn-based system and PvP is a huge part of those experiences.
Genshin Impact, however, the most popular IP from the company, doesn’t feature any competitive aspect.
Some players appreciate that, while others have long asked for some sort of PvP mode.
Why wouldn’t you include PvP in a game like Honkai: Star Rail?
While it might seem like an easy decision to include PvP, it’s not as straightforward as you might think.
PvP introduces more competitiveness which can bring out people’s wallets as they try to power up characters and weapons.
For some, this is a desirable aspect. For others, it puts unnecessary pressure to try to compete with whales. And realistically, that’s not something most players can actually compete with.
Honkai: Star Rail has a ton of potential
We’ll have to see what HoYoverse has planned for the game once it officially releases. But, for now, we can only speculate on launch details.
Hopefully, we’ll learn more about PvP in Star Rail before it releases. We will continue to update this info as it is made available.
