If you’ve been trying to collect all the different Vivillon versions in Pokémon Go, knowing how to check your medals can help you pinpoint what regions you need to focus on.
In total, there are 18 different Vivillon versions, all with their own unique wing pattern.
Pinning multiple postcards from different areas around the world will give you the chance to spawn (and catch) a bunch of Scatterbugs that evolve into different forms.
All of that is great, but you don’t want to go into this without a plan. Luckily, Pokémon Go includes an in-game map detailing all the regions and which ones you are missing.
We’ll show you how to access that below.
How to access the Vivillon Habitat map in Pokémon Go
Checking Vivillon regions in-game is totally possible and definitely a tool to use if you are trying to catch
the majority them all.
Time needed: 2 minutes
To access the Vivillon medal and get access to the regional map, follow the steps here:
Open Pokémon Go and tap your profile picture
On your “Me” page, scroll down until you get to the medals section
- Access the Vivillon medal (looks like a butterfly)
Tap on the Vivillon medal shown below
Now, you can see all the different Vivillon versions
As an added bonus, you can tap the magnifying glass beside the map to get additional details
That’s it. You now know how to check your Vivillon progress in-game, and you even get a handy map with even more information.
What to do if the Vivillon medal isn’t showing up
If you are on the hunt for Scatterbugs and don’t have access to the medal, there is one main thing that could cause that.
Essentially, you need to pin three postcards from the same area to spawn a Scatterbug. Catching that Pokémon should prompt the game to give you access to the medal.
Additionally, and this isn’t something we’ve been able to confirm yet, but if you are a new player, it’s possible you have to reach a level milestone before gaining access.
Ways to get more postcards in Pokémon Go
If you need more postcards from certain regions, you can use something like the Pokémon Go Friends subreddit.
This is a great way to add people from all over the world and gain access to more locations to pin.
