Inkay is an adorable squid-like Pokémon that is featured in Pokémon Go. But, the process for evolving the little fella isn’t completely obvious – we’ll show you how to evolve Inkay below.
Unlike many of the Pokémon in the game, evolving Inkay is more involved than simply pushing the ‘Evolve’ button. But, unlike some Pokémon, which require walking or doing raids, this evolution is much less effort and more fun.
But, that’s enough setup, let’s get to the how-to guide.
How to evolve Inkay in Pokémon Go in seconds
Evolving Inkay doesn’t have to be a monumental task. Just make sure you have enough Candy for the evolution.
When looking at Inkay, you’ll need 50 Inkay Candy. If you don’t have enough, you can set the Pokémon as your buddy and walk to get additional Candies. You can also use Rare Candies to get the remainder you need.
Now that you have enough Candy, let’s evolve Inkay:
Quick answer: To evolve Inkay in Pokémon Go, flip your phone upside down then tap Evolve while on the Inkay Pokémon card in the game.

- Select your Inkay
Tap on the Inkay you’d like to evolve

When you tap Evolve, you’ll see this screen (Press OK)
- It’s time to flip
Once back on the Inkay screen, flip your phone upside down. You’ll notice the Evolve button flips and changes color

While holding your phone upside down, tap the Evolve button to complete the process
Once you tap the Evolve button, your game will start the evolution animation and you can turn your phone back right-side up.
Congratulations! You now have an evolved Inkay and it didn’t require much effort at all.
Inkay in Pokémon Go is not a particularly useful Pokémon for raids or PvP, but it still looks great and adds another entry to your Pokédex.
