Pokémon Go can be played entirely free-to-play, but if you want to do a bunch of raids and events, you’ll have to drop some cash. Thankfully, there’s a small trick you can use to make your money go farther in the mobile game.
Niantic, the developer of Pokémon Go, doesn’t advertise it much, but players can actually purchase coin packs and website-specific bundle boxes.
These coin packs and bundle boxes are slightly cheaper than in-app purchases. This is because Niantic can sell these boxes without App Store owners like Apple and Google taking a cut of each sale.
Typically, the Niantic Store only offers coin bundles, but occasionally, limited-time bundle boxes are also available.
How to use the Niantic Store for bonus coins in Pokémon Go
Using the Niantic Store to purchase coins can be done in just a couple of steps.
- Load the Niantic website
Click or tap this link to load the Pokémon Go Web Store
Click or tap sign-in in the top-right corner
Once signed in, find the package you want to buy and finish the purchasing steps
That’s it! After finishing the purchase, load the Pokémon Go app, and you should see your coins and items in your inventory.
It should be noted that the savings aren’t huge, but why not save a little money for your next batch of remote raid patches or super incubators?
Again, to make use of the Pokémon Go Web Store, head to this link and sign in using your PoGo credentials.
