Tower of Fantasy has hit the scene and we’re having a ton of fun with the new MMO gacha. But, because it is an MMO, players have to deal with a world chat.
And for some people (us included), seeing a constantly scrolling chat is annoying. On top of that, you may be subject to conversations you’d prefer not to see.
This begs the question – can you edit your chat options in Tower of Fantasy, or are you stuck seeing all the random people talking?
Do you have to see all the spammers in the game, or can you hide the chat box and have an uninterrupted gaming experience?
Can you completely hide the chat box in Tower of Fantasy?
We have great news, you can now hide chat box in Tower of Fantasy.
To hide your chat box, go to Settings -> Basic -> and scroll down to Display Preferences
Here you’ll see a toggle for Main Page Chat Display, toggling this off will turn off the chat screen by default.
Now, you can have uninterrupted gameplay during your grind sessions. At any time, you can access the chat box by pressing Enter on PC or tapping the three-dot chat box icon on mobile.
If you want the chat box to show, but want control over what it shows, you can completely customize the chat box to make it better. We’ll walk you through that process below.
How to turn off world chat in Tower of Fantasy
If you only want to see system messages and don’t want to see world chat, group chat, or anything, you can do that.

- Load up Tower of Fantasy
Open your chat options by clicking/tapping the three-dot menu

Choose the Sys. (System) option to only receive system messages in chat
Once you do that, enjoy a distraction-free chat box in ToF.
But what if you want to see messages from friends and your team? For that, you can customize your chat box in Tower of Fantasy.
How to customize your chat in Tower of Fantasy
If you would prefer to fine-tune your chat settings, the game gives you plenty of options. Here’s how to become a power user.
- Open your chat options by clicking/tapping the three-dot menu
- Choose a tab (we used Current) then click the Gear icon beside the chat box

Once you have completed these, you can select OK to finalize your changes.
Tweak your chat box to improve your experience
Some people love seeing a lively chat, but others would prefer to never see it. It really comes down to personal preferences.
While we would love for there to be an option to completely remove it, that simply isn’t the case. But, that said, at least you have full control of the chat box and can tweak it to your liking.
