Opening gifts in Pokémon Go is time-consuming. Especially now, during the Adventures Abound season, where you can open 40 gifts a day. But, there’s actually a small trick you can use to open and send gifts in a snap.
You can completely skip the open and send animation in the game by quickly tapping the X button after tapping on the Gift or Send button.

Open the Friends tab in the game and tap on a player that has sent you a gift

Once on the screen with the gift pop-up, make note of where the X button is

Then, tap the gift and quickly tap where the X button is located (it might be invisible, but it is still there)

Doing these steps will completely skip the opening animation and the items and Stardust will be delivered to your inventory
This same process works when sending gifts, as well. Simply tap the Send Gift button and then quickly tap the bottom-middle of your screen to engage the invisible X button.
