Marvel Snap has hit the scenes and it is an awesome digital card game that gets a lot right.

But newbies to the games (or veterans of digital card games) will quickly see that Marvel Snap doesn’t follow typical trading card game rules.

If you are looking for a quick starter guide or just want to brush up on some of the rules, we’ve got you covered.

When dealing with mobile games, one of the first questions many people ask is if the game is pay-to-win.

This makes sense with digital card games as well, because often, winning is bolstered by owning more cards.

Thankfully, Marvel Snap isn’t pay-to-win, but it does have some mechanics that help you progress faster.

We break down Marvel Snap’s monetization structure in this post, so make sure to check the linked post to learn more about how F2P-friendly the game is.

Where to play Marvel Snap

Marvel Snap is now available on BlueStacks, Android, iOS, and Steam (beta).

Make sure to sign in with the same account, and you should be able to log into your account through multiple platforms.

If Marvel Snap isn’t pay-to-win, then the next question on your mind is probably – “how do you unlock cards in the game?”

Unlocking cards in Marvel Snap is accomplished through playing games and upgrading your existing cards.

That’s the simplest explanation possible, but check out this guide to learn more about unlocking cards in Marvel Snap.

If you want to understand the game’s Pool system a bit better, head here. We break down each level and what the new Pool 4 and 5 cards mean for the game.

There’s also a new Collector’s Token shop that gives you the opportunity to collect new cards. This shop requires Collector’s Tokens, which can be earned through caches.

Upgrading your cards is how you upgrade your Collection Level. Upping that is one of the only ways you can unlock new cards to play with.

When you upgrade cards, they get new artwork, animation effects, and more. But, it is important to note that they do not get new abilities.

There’s a lot to dive into with card rarity, so check out our full guide here.

Variants are a huge part of the game and we love collecting our favorite ones.

But it seems like most of the cache variants and mystery variants end up being pixel style. Why is that?

It’s because you can only get variants that cost 700 Gold from Collector Caches and Mystery variants. All pixel variants cost 700 Gold.

You cannot get variants that cost 1200 Gold from Collector Caches and Mystery variants.

How to share your deck with friends

One of the best parts of this digital card game is the deck-building process.

Figuring out how cards work together can give you an advantage when you hop into PvP. If you want to workshop a deck with friends, you totally can.

Marvel Snap offers an easy way to copy and paste decks.

What is the Cosmic Cube and what does it do?

One of the most unique things about this digital card game is the Cosmic Cube.

This mechanic can help you rise through the ranks quicker, but can also lead to your downfall.

Essentially, this action (called a ‘Snap’) lets you bet against the opponent that you are going to win. If you do win, you are rewarded with more levels.

The comic book card game continues to improve

We’re loving our time with Marvel Snap and can’t wait for the developers to continue to build on their great foundation.

If you are an avid comic book reader — or just love card games — this game is definitely worth checking out.
