If you have exhausted all of the fun to be had in games like Hearthstone and Legends of Runeterra, then good news. Marvel has announced Marvel Snap, a new card-based game that is releasing on PC and mobile.
Details about the game are slim, but we do know that it is being made by Second Dinner, a development team made up of some ex-Hearthstone members (thanks, Verge). That’s a promising sign that the game will be mechanically sound.
As for gameplay, it looks like Marvel Snap will combine some TCG gameplay along with some new elements to (hopefully) deliver a unique experience that keeps players coming back. But what are these new elements going to be like?
In Marvel Snap, players will vie for control of three different zones. Gameplay happens in real-time, which is an interesting twist on a tried-and-true formula. The first player to control two zones wins.
Cards will have different abilities, much like Hearthstone or Magic the Gathering. And there seem to be some interesting abilities. One card shown destroys any cards in a zone with high power levels.
If you are interested in this new TCG from Marvel, then good news. Second Dinner has announced that Android users can sign up for the chance to join a closed beta. If you are on iOS, don’t lose hope. You can always use an Android emulator to play during the beta.
To sign up for the Marvel Snap beta, head to this link, fill out the survey, and you’re good to go. It’s important to note that filling out the survey does not guarantee entry, however.
