Diablo fans have finally received some long-awaited news from Blizzard during the 2022 Xbox Games Showcase Event. Diablo 4 is set to release in June 2023.

With the sour taste of Diablo Immortal still lingering, the announcement comes with an additional kick to the stomach. Diablo 4 was not announced for the Nintendo Switch.

So, as of February 2023, we can confidently state that there are no plans for a Diablo 4 Nintendo Switch release.

At present, the game is only coming to PC, PlayStation, and Xbox consoles.

While no official reasoning has been given, it’s speculated that it comes down to two factors. Those are profitability and porting issues.

Diablo 3 eventually made its way to the Switch in 2017. But that game isn’t as graphically intensive as Diablo 4 will be. This could make porting difficult.

It’s also possible that Blizzard just doesn’t see enough value in dedicating resources to a Switch release. But, this is just speculation at this point.

While not the best news for Nintendo gamers, there is at least some hope that the newest Diablo will find its way to their console sometime in the future.

If you’re looking for a way to scratch your Diablo itch or a new Blizzard title to erase the memory of Diablo Immortal from your mind, you have options.

Diablo 2: Resurrected and Diablo 3 still boast a healthy fan base on the Switch.
