No Man’s Sky, the space exploration game that went from hated to loved, is coming to the Nintendo Switch and it now has a release timeframe. The game will release on the Switch on October 7, 2022.

“No Man’s Sky on this tiny portable device feels both completely natural and also totally improbable at the same time,” Hello Games’ Sean Murray said in a statement.

The game uses a mostly procedurally-generated environment and allows players to explore a nearly endless amount of planets. It has seen many improvements since its original, mostly-hated release in 2016.

Players can explore planets, build bases, do missions, and more in the game. Personally, one of my favorite things to do is hunt for rare ships. The game has a bunch of different models and rarities and that is how I enjoy my time in the game.

It will be interesting to see how the game performs on the Nintendo Switch. Because things are procedurally generated, the console has to do a lot of heavy lifting. Will the Switch be able to handle that? In our experience, the original Switch struggles with Minecraft, so our hopes aren’t high at the moment.

Again, No Man’s Sky on Nintendo Switch releases October 7, 2022. Additionally, a new physical version is releasing for PS5.
