Fans of Blizzard’s hero shooter rejoice. Overwatch 2 is set to release in early access on Oct 4, 2022, for PC and consoles, including the Nintendo Switch.

During the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase, Blizzard gave viewers a glimpse at the upcoming hero shooter.

Along with the Oct. 4th release date, Blizzard announced that the game would operate on a free-to-play model offering premium cosmetics. Additionally, Blizzard is changing the player-vs-player matches from 6v6 to 5v5.

Of course, new maps and heroes will also be available upon release. A new playable tank hero, Junker Queen, was announced. A reveal event, which includes Junker Queen, is planned for June 16 on YouTube.

Overwatch 2 is getting its own founder’s pack, as well. But interestingly enough, this founder’s pack is for players that own the original Overwatch. To be eligible for the pack, you must have purchased Overwatch before June 23, 2002 and log in before December 6, 2022.

The founder’s pack includes two epic skins, an exclusive icon, and an unknown “mystery gift.” But sadly, we don’t know what’s in the mystery gift yet.

Overwatch 2 will be available on PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch on October 4, 2022.
