Honkai: Star Rail is the highly-anticipated mobile game from HoYoverse, the studio behind the massively popular Genshin Impact. But when does Honkai: Star Rail release?
With as much traction as the upcoming turn-based RPG has been getting, you would think that the release was just around the corner. And, thankfully, it is.
Honkai: Star Rail’s release date is set for April 26, 2023.
This has been confirmed during the recent HoYoverse livestream revealing the game.
Pre-installation for the game is now available across all devices. We highly recommend going ahead and doing this if you plan on playing Day 1.
We had originally hoped for a 2022 release, but it didn’t take long to realize that wouldn’t be the case.
We had other hints regarding the release date. For one, the game’s iOS listing states that Honkai: Star Rail is releasing on that date.
It also coincides with the ending of Honkai: Impact 3rd’s story ending, but we’re honestly not sure how much the two relate.
It is expected to release for Android, iOS, and PC through a dedicated client. Additionally, we can now confirm a PlayStation release, as well.
Star Rail release date revealed during new Apple iPad video
In October 2022, we first learned that the game would release in 2023.
This information comes from a new YouTube video released by Apple. In the video highlighting the latest iPad, Star Rail gameplay is shown. The fine print declares that the game will release in 2023.
Additionally, a new January 2023 update pointed to a release date that wasn’t that far away. HoYoverse recently received Chinese approval for Honkai: Star Rail.
All of this combined gave us plenty of support for the April 2023 release date.
Honkai: Star Rail’s beta and what that means for its release date
If Honkai: Star Rail hasn’t been on your radar, the game has actually gone through multiple rounds of beta testing at this point.
The first beta test took place in April 2021. After that, there was a beta in early 2022. Finally, a small closed beta round just took place in June 2022.
Taking all of this into account, we’re confident that HoYoverse is fine-tuning the details of the game ahead of its official launch.
Honkai: Star Rail is not live…yet
To say we’re excited for both Honkai: Star Rail and Zenless Zone Zero is an understatement. These are two of the biggest mobile releases on our radar, and HoYoverse continues to impress.
Also, don’t confuse Star Rail with Honkai Impact 3rd, which is also from HoYoverse. Honkai Impact 3rd is great, but it’s been out for years and is an action RPG, not turn-based.
